All you’ll need is… a mis-pipped card!
AND… knowledge of the criss cross force!
What a deal! Are you still reading???
Hello?
The set up is as simple as 1, 2, 3!
1. Mis-pipped card on top of the deck (force pip closest to the spectator)
2. The odd back card that matches the pip you’re forcing is second from the bottom
3. Remove the duplicate card of the other mis-pip
Let’s see how it all works!
For orientation purposes, let’s assume the person you’re performing for is across a table from you. The pip of the card you’re forcing is nearest to them.
First have them cut the deck on the table, then place the bottom half on top at an angle via criss cross force. Have them peek the corner nearest them of the card on top of the bottom half of the deck- they will peek the force pip.
Then they can square up the cards, and flip the deck face up where the deck rotates along its Y-axis, so the long sides switch sides (not the top and bottom). They will then ribbon spread the cards from their left to right. This will automatically hide the force pip on the mis-pipped card. So when they see that pip again, it will belong to the odd backed card. You have just surreptitiously switched the mis-pipped card with the odd back card. They can now proceed to sign the card that they looked at, which will now be the odd backed card.
You can have your back turned so it’s assumed you do not know the identity of the card. They can sign the card then slide it out and into the card box while your back is turn. This will need a bit of verbal guidance so they don’t pick up and flip the card over. Or they can square the cards back up before you turn back around.
I don’t really have any tricks with this yet. But the world is your oyster or whatever. Wow, the writing style really fell apart there. haha. Still a cool idea though. I’ll update if I think of anything cool to do with it. Or if you think of any, feel free to hit me up.
